The State Fair? The longest-running State Fair in the country. The 24-second shot clock in basketball? Invented here. The city has its fair share of museums and also has one of the country’s best zoos with the Rosamond Gifford Zoo which started in 1914 with 4 acres and has grown to 43 acres with hundreds of animals.
